2010 Windmill Midwinter Championship at Davis Island Yacht Club, Davis Island, FLMarch 12 - 14
Story
Friday's racing was canceled due to a series of thunderstormes moving through the area.

Saturday brought clear skies and westerly winds of 15-25 knots. Eight boats braved the high winds for four races. The Bixby's dominated with a string of firsts. Alan Taylor and Craig Carlson swapped positions throughout the day with Taylor holding a slight lead for second place at the end of the day. Dave Ellis sailed an impressive set of races under main alone to finish the day in fourth. Lon & Meg were in a close second place in the second race when their boom broke at the weather mark. Lin Robson missed the first two races, but sailed very well in the last two finishing 3-2.

Sunday the winds were idyllic at 8-12 knots. Ethan and Trudy Bixby continued to show the way around the course. John & Jay Jennings were sailing fast, posting 3 second place finishes for the day. Dave Ellis and Lin Robson were also sailing well, alternately at the head of the pack following Ethan and John. Ellis sailed well enough to overtake Taylor for second place in the regatta. Overall the fleet stayed close and the competition was keen throughout.

There were actually three regattas this weekend.
There was the two day regatta. There was also the Saturday Regatta and the Sunday Regatta.
On Saturday half of the fleet chose to stay ashore due to the high winds.
On Sunday, everyone sailed. Credit is due to those that had good races on Sunday.
